As part of 𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭, New Horizon hosted a dynamic 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 with engaged members from civil society! Their insights helped shape how young professionals can better influence urban planning processes, especially when it comes to upgrading informal settlements.

The focus group was conducted in a structured format. It included an opening briefing, guided discussion rounds, and a closing summary. Audio was recorded using a digital recorder, and handwritten notes were taken by two facilitators. Participants completed pre-session registration forms with basic organizational and demographic data. Discussion topics were divided into four key segments, following a printed agenda: organizational background, youth participation, interaction with public spaces, and current challenges and opportunities. Interactive tools were used to capture input during group exercises and brainstorming sessions. All materials generated during the session, including registration forms, facilitator notes, and audio recordings, were collected for further analysis. The audio was transcribed, and all data is being systematically reviewed to support the development of a comprehensive final report.
